Engagement Gifts

I found the engagement period very odd after I proposed to my girlfriend. People gift you engagement gifts. It is a very big deal, especially with the older generation I find. Things to help you get started. And they are very similar to wedding gifts. Towel sets, his & her bath robes, house items, and the list goes on.

I am very thankful for it, but it seems like an odd reason to give gifts. You know there are wedding gifts that will be coming and even shower gifts for most weddings.
