My favourite computer upgrade is to put in more memory. It allows you to have more applications open, stops thrashing on your hard drive, and makes things run smoother.

The thing with buying more memory is that it has become very reasonable to purchase. It is also very, very easy to install buy yourself on both laptops and desktop computer.

I have found a number of on-line sites that even install little diagnostic applications to show you exactly what type of RAM will be compatible with your computer.
