I had the opportunity to attend a couple of equestrian events at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta in the past. The world of equestrian is quite interesting. It has the feel of something just a little bit classier than your normal fare. I'm used to seeing horses at a rodeo, but you wouldn't dare compare the two.

Everything from the judges to the equestrian clothing that is worn has a pricier appearance. The whole event seems rather refined.

I took for granted how difficult it was, but I definitely have a new appreciation for the skill required by both the horse and the rider.
