Scoping Out Life Insurance

Purchasing life insurance is a "fun" little process. There are a number of decisions to make such as:

Universal, Whole Life, or Term
Amount of coverage you need.
Features of the policy.
Rates
Joint coverage for a couple.
Trailer options for children.
etc

One of the big things you need to do after deciding on the type of policy you want to buy is to just get a number of different life insurance quotes from various companies. They will vary a bit and some will offer different incentives or discounts based on medical exam or other information.

I recently dissolved two polices and purchased one new one that had significantly cheaper rates for less money. It also had better features within the policy. It's good to re-evaluate every so many years to see if rates have dropped significantly as well.
