I moved several times while I was in university and a few times as a bachelor. Load up my stuff in the truck, make a couple trips back and forth, and I was done. There was not much to it.

As soon as you start to cover long distances and you have a reasonable amount of stuff (i.e. you've gotten married), this can become a bit of a chore. It is time to consider moving services. Special vehicles, help moving, and maybe even extra drivers. Everything helps and is needed to move in a timely fashion if you have a lot of things on the go and/or a short possession changeover in house situations.
