Brand names are huge in electronics. There are established names for all types of products. I run Samsung monitors, Iomega external drives, HP printers, and the list goes on. They all fill a niche and certain price points or warranty expectations. Doing a little bit of research can pay off huge if you want to find the right fit. Problem is that a lot of people are quite biased so you have to be careful. Once they've owned an item that has functioned well, then that brand becomes the choice.
